At Setpoint Solutions, our strength has always been our people and that continues to grow. We’re excited to introduce two of the newest members of our products team, bringing fresh perspectives, diverse backgrounds, and a shared passion for learning and delivering smarter building solutions.
Meet Reuben – Engineering Curiosity Meets Real-World Application (Wellington)
“I’m Reuben, and along with Kieran, we’ve recently joined the Wellington products team.”
Coming from a mechanical engineering background, having recently graduated from the University of Canterbury, Reuben brings a strong technical foundation into the role, particularly in controls, electrical systems, and hands-on problem solving.
“Throughout my studies, I really enjoyed the practical labs where I could apply theory in real-world situations, that’s something I’ve carried into this role.”
Since joining Setpoint, Reuben has been working through the product range, building knowledge across a wide variety of solutions. One product that has stood out early is fabric ducting.
“It’s a great alternative to traditional steel ducting, easier to transport and install, and it delivers more uniform air distribution.”
Spending time learning tools like TPV software has allowed him to dive deeper into how these solutions are designed and applied.
For Reuben, it’s all about growth.
“I’m excited to get to know the team and learn as much as possible.”
Meet Kieran – From Music to Engineering, Built on Curiosity and Connection (Wellington & North Island)
“I spent over 10 years as a guitar teacher before moving into electrical engineering.”
Kieran’s path into the industry is anything but typical, but it’s that diverse background that shapes how he works today. With a long-standing interest in physics, energy efficiency, and how buildings operate, he transitioned into engineering to pursue a more technical career.
After studying, he worked on an immersion-cooled battery project for electric forklifts before designing and building his own energy-efficient tiny house, applying real-world principles around thermal performance, ventilation, heating, and solar PV.
“That project gave me hands-on experience in how building systems actually perform, not just in theory.”
Now part of the Setpoint products team, Kieran supports clients across Wellington and the wider North Island, while collaborating closely with teams nationwide.
While still building product-specific expertise, his strength lies in electrical and controls knowledge, combined with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
“I think what stands out at Setpoint is the quality of both the products and the people.”
From innovative solutions like fabric ducting to global systems from Siemens, Kieran sees huge value in the range on offer but even more in the team behind it.
“There’s a real depth of knowledge here, and a culture of looking after people, that flows through to how we support our customers.”
Let’s Start the Conversation
