Siemens PXC7 first in the country
TSB Tower was looking for a customised BMS solution and the Setpoint team achieved this by embracing new technology, working with Siemens and utilising the PXC7 range of products.
We pride ourselves for always being pro-active and looking at new systems and technologies to ensure our customers receive the best performance from their buildings.
When it comes to new software and hardware releases, be it the new Desigo CC version and features, new software tools or newly released controllers and user interfaces.
So, when Siemens announced the new PXC7 product, offering the same platform as the PXC4 but with further expandable IO, we were all over the new specs ready to implement it when the right occasion arose.
When we started our research into the solution needed within the TSB tower the team knew the PXC7 was ideal. It meant installing a single product to do the job rather than putting in multiple PXC4 controllers and it enabled our client to upgrade their BMS head end.
The TSB Tower site consists of floor Fan Coil Units with Apogee TEC, connected via existing PXC00s & PXC100s to bring these back to the new Desigo CC front end and three PXC7 controllers serving the chiller, boilers, AHUs, and other rooftop plants.
Siemens was so impressed with our plans to engineer the site with a PXC7, not only did they readily approve the submission, but they made the TSB tower a test site for the PXC7, so we were one of the first in the country to implement the PXC7 as a solution.
Database and programming work was done by Nick Johnson (BMS Controls Engineer, Wellington), while the graphics were done by Lance Tollenaar (BMS Controls Engineer, Wellington). With support from, and information sharing with the rest of the engineers, this was a great team effort. The upgrade job was completed with minimal disruption and our client was thrilled with the new system.
