A Siemens high level data interface to an older automation system allowed the University of Otago to do a staged implementation of their new site wide APOGEE® system. APOGEE® provides the University with the right platform for HVAC control and energy management throughout the campus. Maintaining the correct spatial conditions and air quality along with controlling energy costs are key requirements for the site. Some other system features include a high level interface to Daikin VRV air conditioning systems, Siemens variable speed drives on the APOGEE® network, scheduling, optimised start stop routines, compensation schedules and an interface with the main generator system.
